ACHD: Road closures start Wednesday at Locust Grove and Victory intersection in Meridian

Starting Dec. 7, the Locust Grove and Victory roads intersection in Meridian will be closed while the Ada County Highway District begins a project to widen one of the roads and put in a roundabout.

The highway district said in a press release Friday that crews working from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. will widen Locust Grove to include two lanes in each direction and a center turn lane.

The Locust Grove and Victory Road intersection will be closed starting Dec. 7 until February, the Ada county Highway District said.

Crews will also build a dual-lane roundabout at the intersection with bike ramp entrances, crosswalks and a truck apron for larger vehicles.

Other improvements will include a 10-foot path for pedestrians and bicyclists at the roundabout. Crews will add a pedestrian crossing at Time Zone Drive, and the existing crossing at Mastiff Street will be relocated north during the project.

ACHD said commuters should detour using Overland or Amity roads when traveling east and west. Detours are also in place on Eagle and Meridian roads for commuters traveling north and south.

The intersection closure will be in place through February to accommodate utility work, but ACHD said the schedule could change.
