Update: The special ad-free experience for subscribers has ended. You can still listen to Accused for free wherever you get your podcasts.

It's back! Season 4 of hit true-crime podcast "Accused" is available with early, ad-free access for subscribers.

USA TODAY and USA TODAY Network subscribers are among the first to hear all seven episodes detailing the savage murder of a woman who was in suburban Cincinnati for a family celebration and killed in her hotel room. It took law enforcement a year to arrest a suspect for the crime. Sentenced to die soon, Elwood Jones has maintained his innocence and refuses a reduction of sentence if he must plead guilty.

"Accused" Season 4 investigates lingering questions about police behavior in this case and the long legacy of the inequitable practice of sentencing Black men much more severely if the victims are white.

While you're listening uninterrupted, download the USA TODAY app (iOS | Android) for an augmented reality experience that lets you step inside the crime scene central to this season. On the app, navigate to "sections," then scroll to "augmented reality."

All episodes of "Accused, Season 4: The Impending Execution of Elwood Jones" will remain ad-free to subscribers through the end of 2022. On February 8, Season 4 will debut to the public on Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music, Spotify, Google Podcasts and Wondery. New episodes drop weekly.
