Aaron Taylor-Johnson has avoided answering a question about potentially being the next James Bond in an awkward red carpet moment.

The Marvel star is heavily tipped to be taking over the mantle of 007, with reports last month claiming that the actor has been offered the role. However, a production insider later claimed there were "no truth in the rumours".

Taylor-Johnson was asked whether he ever gets "sick of being asked about Bond" by AP during a red carpet last night (April 22) for his new movie The Fall Guy.

After taking a moment and sighing in response, the actor replied: "You sick of asking the question?"

"I want to know, so no…," the reporter then said, before Taylor-Johnson began to walk off and say: "Alright, have a good one."

Whether or not the actor has landed the role, he has received the backing of former Bond actor Pierce Brosnan.

"I think the man has the chops and the talent and the charisma to play Bond, very much so," the star recently told The Ray D'Arcy Show.

Brosnan added: "I read the news about his possibilities of being a Bond, so I would definitely tip my hat to the fellow."

Meanwhile, rumoured Bond actor Henry Cavill recently weighed in on the idea of playing the role, the star admitting he wasn’t sure if he is "too old" for the part.

"All I've got to go off is the rumours. The same information you have," he told The Rich Eisen Show. "Maybe I'm too old now, maybe I'm not. It's up to [producers] Barbara Broccoli and Mike Wilson and we'll see what their plans are."
