A Superfast Ouija Board History Lesson (Exclusive Featurette)

Ouija, as you can surmise from the title, is all about a group of friends conjuring evil spirits via the eponymous board.

While the movie has a contemporary setting, we learn in this exclusive featurette that the Ouija origins date back to the 1860s. As a result of the enormous death toll in the American Civil War people were desperate to connect with their lost loved ones through “spirit communication devices.” Those devices ultimately evolved the classic Ouija board, patented in 1890.

As for the movie, Ouija is available on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD Tuesday.
