Iran will not impede IAEA access, head of its atomic organisation says
According to a report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) earlier this week, Iran has agreed to tougher monitoring by the agency at its Fordow site after it greatly accelerated uranium enrichment to close to weapons grade there. Last week, the IAEA reported that Iran had multiplied the pace of its enrichment to up to 60% purity, close to the 90% of weapons grade, at Fordow.

South Korea lawmakers vote in second bid to impeach Yoon over martial law debacle
SEOUL (Reuters) -South Korean lawmakers started voting on Saturday on a second motion to impeach President Yoon Suk Yeol over his attempt to impose martial law, a move that shocked the nation, split his party and imperilled his presidency half way through his term.The fresh attempt faces the risk of failure after media reported that Yoon's People Power Party had decided to maintain its official position to vote against the impeachment. However, seven PPP members have said publicly they intend to back impeachment. The opposition parties, which control 192 seats, need at least eight PPP votes for the motion to pass.

New York doctor sued for prescribing abortion pills to Texas woman
Texas has sued a New York doctor for allegedly prescribing abortion pills to a woman near Dallas. A lawsuit, filed by Texas attorney general Ken Paxton on Thursday, alleges Dr Margaret Carpenter unlawfully prescribed abortion-inducing drugs to the 20-year-old, in violation of the state's laws. While no criminal charges are involved, Mr Paxton said the woman, who was nine weeks pregnant, was taken to hospital in July with "serious complications" after taking the medication.
