8 Casualty spoilers for next week

Casualty spoilers follow.

Next week on Casualty, Matthew struggles with disturbing flashbacks, while Rash vows to make a change and there's a new romance on the ED...

Here's a full collection of the seven biggest moments coming up:

1. Matthew's day gets off to a bad start

Matthew is stuck in traffic on his way to work an injured teenage girl falls onto his car leaving a bloody handprint. The incident transports Matthew back to Africa, where the image of a bloody handprint on a wall.

He comes out of the flashback to be interviewed by a police officer who informs Matthew of a major incident between rival gangs and that the police have been given authorisation of stop and search to investigate.

2. Stevie makes her move

After the earlier incident, Matthew finally arrives at work late, to Dylan’s fury. They discuss getting him fully on the system now he’s being made permanent; a conversation which is witnessed by Stevie.

Stevie suggests to Matthew that they go for a drink to celebrate, alone, but what will he say?

3. Rash is targeted by the police

Rash and Ethan are walking into work when they are stopped by the police officer Matthew encountered earlier.

The police ask to search Rash's bag only, leaving Ethan to question their reasons as to why they aren't searching his as well.

Aware of the racial bias, Ethan and Rash are appalled but ultimately Rash has no choice but to cooperate.

4. Rash gets some sad news

Rash's day then takes another turn when he starts to treat Farah, the teenage girl who fell onto Matthew’s car.

Rash doesn’t recognise Farah at first but her mentor Hafsa reminds him that she is the little sister of his childhood friend, Sam.

Hafsa breaks it to Rash that Sam died last year, not long after he came out of prison. Rash is shocked and saddened and admits that they'd fallen out of touch in recent years.

5. Matthew his haunted by the past

Despite the fact he is clearly struggling, Matthew ploughs on with his day but keeps having to fight flashbacks to his time back in Africa.

Unable to control them, Matthew becomes increasingly riled up with a patient and is scolded by Dylan for his belligerent behaviour.

However, when Matthew’s patient starts to deteriorate, it triggers even more flashbacks of his time performing medical care in a warzone.

During surgery, Matthew's flashbacks worsen and he completely freezes, prompting Stevie to step in.

6. Ffion rejects Jan again

Ffion is back at work following her cancer diagnosis, but she's still keen to keep Jan at arm's length.

Jan is left hurt when she overhears Ffion refusing to speak to Jan regarding a work issue. Is there any hope for them at all?

7. Rash vows to make a change

As Rash spends more time with Hafsa, he is concerned to discover there is more to her original story than he thought.

When Hafsa is questioned by the police, Rash is horrified by their racist comments and chooses not to tell them what he knows.

Imploring Hafsa to turn her life around instead, Rash gives her his number and promises he'll do anything he can to help her. Frustrated by the prevalence of racism in Holby, Rash is left inspired to help the community.

8. Stevie and Matthew get passionate

At the end of a difficult day, Matthew is given something to smile about when Stevie makes her intentions clear.

They head back to her place, but Matthew tenses when she attempts to get him to open up about what's been bothering him afterwards. Will he tell her what's going on?
