50-year-old woman who fell in McDonald’s drive-thru is killed by SUV, NC police say

A 50-year-old woman who was hit by an SUV in a McDonald’s drive-thru died from her injuries days later, police in North Carolina said.

Linda Jenkins was walking through the McDonald’s parking lot on Randleman Road in Greensboro on Sept. 21 when she fell down, police told WGHP.

As Jenkins was on the ground, a 2005 Cadillac Escalade hit her as it moved through the drive-thru line, according to the News & Record.

Jenkins was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries and died on Sept. 25, according to WGHP.

The driver of the SUV, 27-year-old Aleyah LeGrande, faces charges of failing to reduce speed to avoid a collision with a pedestrian and misdemeanor death by vehicle, WXII reported.

McClatchy News reached out to the Greensboro Police for more information on Sept. 29 and was awaiting a response.

Greensboro is about 75 miles northwest of Raleigh.
