A 4-Year-Old Tied Her Letter To Santa To a Balloon And It Was Found Over 600 Miles Away

From Delish

Okay, this is seriously amazing.

Early in December, Leticia Flores-Gonzalez came up with a fun activity for her twin daughters, Luna and Gianella. She had both 4-year-olds release balloons with notes to Santa tied to them outside of their home in Liberal, Kansas. The little girls watched their sweet wishes float away—and Leticia never thought she’d hear much about them again.

“It was something different for the girls—a memory they could keep after a rough 2020,” Leticia told Good Morning America. “It was just so cold and windy. I didn’t expect them to go that far.”

But a few weeks later, Leticia heard that someone had shared a photo of Luna’s pink balloon on Facebook. Alvin Bamburg, who lives in Shreveport, Louisiana, found it, and posted a picture of the wishlist, which read:

“My name is Luna. I am 4 years old. I live in Liberal, KS. This year I have been nice. I would love it if you could bring me…Candy, Spiderman ball, Frozen doll, Puppy, My Little Pony.”

Aww! Alvin wanted to locate the family, so he wrote, “Found this in the woods in Grand Cane, LA. Would love to know when it was launched. Looks like it traveled over 600 miles. Feel free to share.”

“Through many shares” Alvin and Leticia were finally connected. “We have heard from the mom and are going to work with her to figure out the best way to grant her daughters’ wishes,” he wrote in an update to the post.

How cool is that? Now, it sounds like Alvin is working to ship presents to Kansas, some or all of which Leticia says will be donated to the less fortunate, according to GMA.

But we can probably all agree: This is the good news we needed today!
