2023 Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster Pairs 690 HP and the Wind in Your Hair

The V12 Vantage is going out in style. Aston Martin announced Friday it will build an ultra-limited run of V-12-powered Vantage Roadsters to go along with the coupe introduced earlier this year. Sporting the same upgrades first seen on the hardtop model, it's likely one of Aston Martin's last 12-cylinder models.

The 2023 V12 Vantage Roadster shares much of its drivetrain and chassis upgrades with the coupe. That means a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V-12 from the DBS Superleggera under the hood making 690 hp and 555 lb-ft of torque. It sends power to the rear wheels via an eight-speed automatic transaxle and a mechanical limited-slip differential. There's also a widened track and a revised suspension setup for more overall grip. Aston claims a 0-60 time of 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 200 mph.

The V12 Vantage Roadster gets many of the same aero changes as its hardtop sibling, including revised bumpers and underbody molding. The bumper, hood, front fenders, and side sills are all made from carbon fiber. In addition to providing a maximum of 476 pounds of downforce, revised design also provides adequate cooling for the large power plant under that gigantic front clamshell.

Other improvements include standard carbon-ceramic brakes and 21-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Buyers can option a lightweight forged wheel that saves a total of 17 pounds. If you're really looking to shed weight, you can also choose a set of carbon-shelled buckets that cut 16 pounds from the car's overall curb weight.

The V12 Vantage Roadster is set to enter production in Q3 of 2022, with deliveries happening towards the end of the year. Pricing has not yet been revealed, but that doesn't really matter, as all 249 units set to be produced have already been sold.
