Daughter of Martin Luther King Jr., Coretta Scott King blasts President Trump in viral post

Last night, Sen. Elizabeth Warren was silenced on the Senate floor while speaking out against President Trump's attorney general nominee, Jeff Sessions.

Warren attempted to quote a letter written by Coretta Scott King, Martin Luther King Jr.'s widow, in 1986 when Sessions was considered for federal judgeship.

In the letter, King discussed how she deeply opposed Sessions' appointment. "Anyone who has used the power of his office as United States Attorney to intimidate and chill the free exercise of the ballot by citizens should not be elevated to our courts," she wrote.

"Mr. Sessions has used the awesome powers of his office in a shabby attempt to intimidate and frighten elderly black voters."

Following Warren's interruption in the Senate by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, the daughter of the Kings and now CEO of the King Center, Bernice King, took to Facebook to share "advice" on opposing President Trump's administration:

King gave "guidelines" for those anti-Trump to "resist," including not using Trump's name and to not argue with his supporters.

"Keep demonstrations peaceful," she asserted. She ended the post by urging people to keep the Republican party accountable.

King's post went viral on both Facebook and Twitter, earning thousands of shares by Wednesday morning.
