Bill Simmons spills the NBA's 'best kept secret' on Twitter
By JOHN DORN
Bill Simmons has been relatively quiet lately, as his ESPN tenure comes to a silent close and his HBO career inches closer to open up next year. His columns have been nonexistent since NBA season -- ditto for his podcasts -- and the only way we've heard from him lately has been periodical tweets.
The Los Angeles-based sports media giant took to the platform Tuesday afternoon, seemingly out of the blue, to dish some dirt on the Los Angeles Clippers. Evidently, their dysfunction goes well beyond Chris Paul yelling at DeAndre Jordan on the court.
According to Simmons, the Clips are "just as much of disaster behind the scenes as the Sterling Clips were."
1. Steve Ballmer seems like a nice enough guy. Donald Sterling was one of the worst human being who ever owned a pro sports franchise.

In addition, he kind of confirmed what we already knew, in that the Sacramento Kings organization was downright crazy. But there's a somewhat surprising inclusion in his list of most dysfunctional NBA teams.
6. Three most dysfunctional NBA organizations right now are the Kings, Hornets and Clippers and I am not sure of the order... (Ok I'm done)

Michael Jordan's Charlotte Hornets crack the list, according to Simmons. It's not particularly tough to imagine, given Jordan's insanely aggressive and commanding personality. Remember: The team turned down six draft picks on draft day in exchange for their No. 9 pick alone.
While Simmons hasn't reported on anything in some time, it's reasonable to assume he's one of the more well-connected NBA media members around -- particularly pertaining to the LA teams, around which he spends the most time.
It's undeniable that Donald Sterling was a putrid owner and an even worse human being. But new Clippers boss Steve Ballmer still has his work cut out for him in launching his team to championship heights for the first time ever.
