Bindy Gralow is 102 years old but that is not slowing her down. She has always had the need for speed and on Thursday, that need was fulfilled at Richmond Raceway. She got to ride shotgun in a Toyota Camry pace car for about half a dozen laps. And that was still not fast enough for her, per WWBT News.

Gralow was born during the Roaring Twenties, and she has loved the sensation of speed her entire life. She had the thrill of a lifetime while zooming around the NASCAR oval track. Even so, she still wanted to go faster.

“Go as fast as you like because I love fast,” Gralow told the driver. The pace car driver was not allowed to exceed 65 miles per hour. “I wanted to go faster,” Gralow said. You just have to love her enthusiasm.

She arrived at the track with two of her five daughters and her caregiver. Gralow was given the royal treatment from the moment she arrived as she waved to the media and made her way to the track via a red carpet. Her face truly lit up once she was buckled into the pace car.

After her thrill laps, the Gralow family and caregiver were able to sign their names in the paint on the start/finish line. But this does not seem to be the last racing adventure for the feisty centenarian. When asked if she would like to do this again, her reply was: “I hope so. Will I get a free ticket?”

Gralow plans to return to Richmond Raceway in the spring to watch a NASCAR race that will be held right around her 103rd birthday.

“Fans like Bindy are what makes Richmond Raceway such a special place for our community,” said Lori Colier Waran, president of Richmond Raceway. “We’re extremely humbled to help make her wishes come true as she fulfilled her need for speed!”
