Simon Cowell "Flattered" Britney Spears Is Interested in Judging X Factor

Simon Cowell "Flattered" Britney Spears Is Interested in Judging X Factor

Does Britney Spears have The X Factor?

As Fox's competition series restructures its talent roster for season two, the 30-year-old pop star has expressed a keen interest in joining the series, reaching out to executives to angle for a gig.

While creator and show mentor Simon Cowell hesitates to confirm any casting rumors, the 52-year-old reality TV mogul does tell Us Weekly he's "flattered" by Spears' interest.

"I couldn't comment on it," Cowell said of potential interest from Spears and Janet Jackson. "Are we flattered that there could be interest? Yes. Other than that, there's going to be a lot of twists and turns over the next few weeks and a lot of things we're going to announce."

Remaining tight-lipped on potential format changes for the show's second season, Cowell did confirm he'll recruit two new women for the judging panel and two personalities to host.

"It's almost impossible to have one person doing this hosting job. You've got so much information now on telephone lines, the integrations of the sponsors -- [the hosts are] like newscasters now," Cowell explains. "I think you can see a very different chemistry with two people. I always wanted a boy and a girl to host the show. I think that's definitely going to happen now."

VIDEO: What to expect from X Factor champ Melanie Amaro's album

"I think we've learned how we can make the show better," he continued. "I like the fact that it's got very competitive now [against The Voice and American Idol]. It's kind of exciting."

It is obvious that Simon is questioning himself and becoming confused and despite. I definitely will not be watching the X Factor if he plan to have Britney Spears as one of the judges. Britney cannot sing she is an entertainer. She needs to continue working on her life and getting better. I have watched American Idol from inception and watched X Factor last season. I must say if any of them are on the same time as THE VOICE, I will be watching THE VOICE. I think X Factor is similar to American Idol and The Voice. I think Idol and X Factor need to lose the gimmicky people getting to the judges just for entertainment. I love that the judges of the Voice can't see the singers, which means they are judged on talent not looks. I also love the chemistry between the host, and judges they are talented and successful. I think it would be a big mistake to get a male and female to host X Factor. The show only needs one host; let's remember that American Idol started off with two hosts. I hope Simon get talented judges who can coach the singers. Britney can’t be taken seriously, it would be a joke. I have some suggestions for the host of X Factor - Neil Patrick Harris, Terrence Jenkins (my preference), Wayne Brady or Shemar Moore, or Terrence Jenkins (my preference). If Simon insists on male and female Terrence co-host is Rosci. My suggestion for female judge is Mary J. Blige or Mariah Carey (or someone of their caliber). I wouldn’t have thought of Mary J, but she was great on the Idol as a guest coach. I truly think X Factor should have made changes with the show and host. There should not have been any changes in the judges in the second season. This showed a weakness in the show. Simon even stated he made a mistake by stating how many million will be tuning in to X Factor. I am sure the rating would have climbed.

Something just came to my mind about why Simon is thinking about Britney Spears. He is trying to put her up against Christina (The Voice). I think it would be a bad idea. Christina is talented and highly qualified. She is credible and in my opinion Britney Spears is not qualified. I am not trying to be disrespectful. I just think it would be a big mistake and there won't be a third season of X Factor.

There are better people to judge for sure. But I do like Britney and I grew up listening to her when she first hit the airwaves.. But not an exceptional singer.

We've had enough of Britney Spears and all her phoney lip singing trashy self. Look beyond the ones whose hands are dangling in your face Simon. BOK!!!

She never used to lip sync :( She used to sing and dance all at the same time live and did a good job. Boy things have changed.

Britney Spears judging someone's singing is absurd, Britney Spears is a washed -up no talent, who hardly ever sings live on her shows, so for her to judge someone else's singing is beyond stupid, and would be an Insult to any real singer that performs on that show!!!

"Flattered"? Really? She has gotten so far on such little talent..I think she is just seeking some attention...I'd think they would want a judge that actually has some talent...

She has gotten as far as she did because people could not get enough of her.

When I listen to people singing, l listen for range and things like that. When I listen to Britney singing, first off, I don't hear her voice because it is composed of many of her voices put together along with computer correcting. So, I can't her a clear voice in any of her songs. I assume that is because she doesn't have a clear voice , or can't record a song without 'help'...Just saying, that is not talent...

I don't think she is right for the x factor. I mean she is really famous and back in the day had some really great hits. But as a singer, she does not have the x factor.

She's so brain-dead that all you can do is get her to lip-sync her criticisms to contestants.
