WARWICK, R.I. - Oscar-nominated actor James Woods settled a lawsuit against a Rhode Island hospital where his brother, Michael, died, a judge announced Tuesday, after a hospital executive apologized and agreed to start an institute in his brother's name.
The settlement, which also included an undisclosed sum to the Woods family, came in the fourth week of testimony at Kent County Superior Court in the wrongful death lawsuit against Kent Hospital for the 2006 death.

WARWICK, Rhode Island - Oscar-nominated actor James Woods on Tuesday settled a lawsuit against a hospital in Rhode Island where his younger brother Michael died in 2006.
Woods claimed Kent Hospital was negligent in the death of his 49-year-old brother, who had a heart attack and died in its emergency room after going there with a sore throat and vomiting.

WARWICK, R.I. - A hospital did not do enough to care for the brother of James Woods when he went to the emergency room complaining of a sore throat and vomiting in 2006, a lawyer for the actor told jurors Monday at the trial of a wrongful death lawsuit.
Michael Woods died from heart disease at Kent Hospital in Warwick on July 26, 2006, after going into cardiac arrest on a gurney. He was 49.

WARWICK, R.I. - Two-time Oscar-nominated actor James Woods has sued a Rhode Island hospital over the 2006 death of his younger brother.
Woods on Friday would not discuss the lawsuit in detail, but told The Associated Press he wants "justice" for his brother, Michael, who was 49 when he died at Kent Hospital in Warwick of what was believed to be a heart attack.
