This art imatating life is so powerfully acted and directed and shows a background into the moviemaking business and it's machinations. Madonna is absolutely terrific here, none of her mannerisms are obvious which hurts her potential to be taken seriously as an actress. Keitel is brillant as always and James Russo is electric. Not a typical movie, and director Abel Ferrara hard edged films(Ms. 45, and Bad Lieutenant.) is not for everyone. Love it or hate it you can't deny this film 's dramatic impact. |
