Even though the low-budget horror comedy Cud is barely past the first screenplay draft stage, it already has our vote for the most original promotional movie blog premise of 2008. That would be a blog maintained by Bossie, one of the man-eating cows that will make up the scourge of this nostalgic B movie romp.
"I just got back from Cowlifornia and boy is my tail dragging!" Bossie shares in a recent entry. "I stopped in at the Playboy Mansion and met Hugh Heifer."
"He's a nice guy but a little bulimic…" the soon-to-be-Mooo-vie-star continues. "I couldn't believe how hard it is to get into the mansion. They told me that since they heard I was coming, they had to beef up security. I told 'em they were just spinning their veals. Someone needs to steer them in the right direction. I need a pacifier…"
Cud s the brainchild of South Florida residents Ron Siwica and Steve Reece. Per a report in the Daytona Beach News-Journal, Siwica's day job encompasses being a set production supervisor for TV shows such as Meet the Press and CNN Headline News, while Reece has worked as a carpenter on movie sets for films like The Terminator and Stargate. A trailer for their new endeavor is forthcoming and will be used to entice would-be investors.
