First worked as a production designer on "Decline and Fall of a Bird Watcher" (1968) and made his name with the appropriately violent visuals for Stanley Kubrick's "A Clockwork Orange" (1971). Barry subsequently worked on such Hollywood blockbusters as "Star Wars" (1977) and "Superman" (1978).
