Somewhat reminiscent of SCREAM in its use of familiar horror movie tropes and film-within-a-film style, EVIL EYES is a creepy, yet inventive shocker. A budding screenwriter takes a job writing a Grand Guignol-esque script about the brutal slaying of a family, that has the added caveat of being based on actual events. But putting pen to paper results in some gruesome occurrences for the young scribe, as a series of murders play out around him, most of which follow an uneasy pattern that resembles the very words which he is writing.
