Before they were famous: Jennifer Lawrence thanks MTV for ‘Super Sweet 16’ gig at SAG Awards (video)

Every actor has to get their start somewhere. For “Silver Linings Playbook” star Jennifer Lawrence, that start came courtesy of an MTV reality show called “My Super Sweet 16.” After winning the Best Actress prize at last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, Lawrence went out of her way to thank the teen-oriented channel for giving her that first big break.

No, the Oscar-nominated actress wasn’t one of the spoiled brats featured on the TV show about extravagant teenage birthday parties. She just played one in a commercial – which you can see below.

The “Super Sweet 16” promo was Lawrence's first real acting gig age the tender age of 14, and the job that allowed her to get a Screen Actors Guild membership -- a requirement for being nominated for a SAG Award. Lawrence went on to guest star in TV shows like "Monk" and "Medium" before scoring a recurring role on "The Bill Engvall Show."

Of course, Lawrence's acting career shot into overdrive after her Oscar-nominated turn in 2010's "Winter's Bone" and starring role as Katniss Everdeen in the box office smash "The Hunger Games." But the actress is proof that even humble, tear-filled beginnings in promos for reality TV schlock can lead to extremely successful careers. Keep on truckin', aspiring actors!

Lawrence isn't the only "Silver Linings" star whose slightly embarrassing pre-fame work has been preserved on the Internet for all to see. Co-star Bradley Cooper has had videos from his days as a student at the prestigious Actors Studio (looking like his disheveled character from "Limitless") enshrined online, though it may not be quite as blush-inducing as Lawrence's MTV promo.

Both Lawrence and Cooper are up for the top acting prizes at next month's Academy Awards.
