Thigh-high slit dresses take over TIFF 2012

The thigh's the limit at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival.

First, Vanessa Hudgens played a little leg peekaboo at the "Spring Breakers" premiere. Then Kate Hudson flashed some leg for "The Reluctant Fundmentalist," and then flashed a little more in a dress with an almost hip-baring slit for the press conference. Heck, even buttoned-down "Twilight" star Anna Kendrick got in on the action!

Now, Penelope Cruz is the latest actress to join the fest's growing Angelina Jolie leg brigade. The 38-year-old Spanish actress, who stars as one-half of an ill-fated Sarajevo couple in the TIFF film "Twice Born," nearly flashed more than her stems on Thursday evening as she walked on stage to present the film at Roy Thomson Hall in a vintage pinky purple Versace gown.

Cruz is the fourth actress to give her legs the spotlight at the festival this year. Posing as part of the crew of "Spring Breakers" last Friday, Vanessa Hudgens was the first to slip a little leg out for the cameras. According to People, she wore a purple Marchesa gown, which she accessorized with an almost $15,000 cuff!

But that weekend, it was Kate Hudson who had the most-talked about stems at TIFF. The 33-year-old "Reluctant Fundamentalist" star first wore an Alexander McQueen gown with a conservative slit to the film's premiere on Saturday, followed by an almost waist-high slitted Emilio Pucci dress to the press conference on Sunday.

That same weekend, Anna Kendrick, usually so prim and proper on screen, let loose for the premiere of "End of Watch" on Saturday. Before going sheer the next night for her other TIFF film "The Company You Keep," the 27-year-old starlet wore a black Elie Saab gown with a thigh-high slit.
