Matthew Fox makes first red carpet appearance since DUI arrest (TIFF 2012)

Friday night at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, "Lost" star Matthew Fox appeared on the red carpet for the first time since his DUI arrest this summer -- and he looked a little, well, lost.

The 46-year-old actor sported a grey suit and some wet-looking hair at the TIFF premiere of "Emperor," in which he plays an expert on Japan who will determine Emperor Hirohito's fate. Fox did his duty at the film screening-- posing with co-star Tommy Lee Jones, taking photos with fans and smiling for reporters -- but overall, he looked a little weary of being in the spotlight again.

Part of the reason he may have looked a little different was because he reportedly lost 35 lbs. for his upcoming role in "Alex Cross," in which he plays a cage-fighting hitman.

When CityNews asked if Fox was having a good time, he hesitantly replied "I am, you know, I'm in and out really quick. I got in yesterday, I'm just here for the premiere of the film and then out tomorrow."

The actor was no doubt itching to get out of the spotlight considering these past few months. In May, the "Lost" star was arrested for driving under the influence in Oregon. He pleaded no contest and, at the end of June, Oregon authorities released a mugshot of the actor looking like a deer caught in the headlights.

But that wasn't his first run-in with the law. Last year, Fox allegedly punched a female bus driver (she filed a lawsuit and Fox countersued soon after) in Ohio after trying to get onto a private party bus. Perhaps referring to this incident, Fox's former "Lost" co-star Dominic Monaghan lambasted the actor on Twitter three months ago while promoting his new show "Wild Things." At the time, he was asked to get Fox to join the social networking site.

"He beats women. No thanks," Monaghan claimed, adding, "Not isolated incidents. Often."

Sources close to Fox told TMZ that the actor had never beaten a woman in his life.
