Kristen Stewart stuns in Zuhair Murad at the ‘On The Road’ TIFF premiere
Most of Toronto was already aware she was in town, but Thursday night, Kristen Stewart made her first official public appearance since her cheating scandal broke in late July. The actress made her much-hyped appearance at the "On the Road" premiere on the first night of the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival.
Although Stewart showed up at Toronto's Pearson airport looking a little disheveled in jeans and Robert Pattinson's old T-shirt, the 22-year-old actress was far more polished on the TIFF red carpet. She donned an elegant Zuhair Murad dress that featured sheer sleeves and floral detailing; meanwhile, her normally-wavy hair was ironed straight, giving her a very sophisticated look. And hey, she even smiled for the cameras! Who could have expected the normally-somber Stewart to do that?

Despite what must have been a nerve-wracking event, Stewart walked the red carpet like a pro, even signing autographs for fans along the way. Public opinion of Stewart may be all over the map right now, but you couldn't tell from looking at her on Thursday night that anything was amiss.

Perhaps it helped that ex-boyfriend Robert Pattinson was all the way across the continent. The "Twilight" hunk was in Los Angeles Thursday night at the MTV Video Music Awards, presenting new footage from the upcoming "Twilight" conclusion "Breaking Dawn Part 2." Pattinson has already given plenty of interviews in the last few weeks as he promoted his latest film, the David Cronenberg-directed "Cosmopolis," so his public excursion to the VMAs was probably not as scary as Stewart's TIFF appearance.
"On the Road" will see a wide release on Dec. 21.
