‘The Dark Knight Rises’ parody videos begin to surface

Let the Batman parodies begin! With the promotional blitz for Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" in full swing, there's no shortage of Batman-related materials to be found online and on TV. Thankfully though not all of it is strictly official marketing from Warner Bros. As expected with any major movie release, a torrent of hilarious parody videos from comedians and sketch comedy troupes are beginning to surface online.

Here are some of the best "Dark Knight Rises" parody videos so far.

What if the 1960's version of Robin showed up in "The Dark Knight Rises?"
This ridiculous "What if?" scenario from Above Average Productions (the digital production arm of "Saturday Night Live" creator Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video) throws the campy, catchphrase spouting 1960s TV Robin into the violent and serious world of "The Dark Knight Rises." Batman is just about to begin a climactic showdown with Bane when the plucky Boy Wonder crashes the party.

Unlikely Quotes from Batman
From Chicago's Octavarius Improv group comes a montage of things you won't hear Batman say in "The Dark Knight Rises." We would pay good money to hear the actual Christian Bale utter the phrase "What up girl?" in that husky Batman voice of his.

'The Dark Knight Rises' trailer with Pee-wee Herman Voices
And last but not least, late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon invited actor Paul Reubens to dub the voices in the latest "Dark Knight Rises" trailer with that of his most famous character: eternal man-child Pee-wee Herman. It should be noted that Reubens (and the Pee-wee character) got their start on the big screen thanks to director Tim Burton in "Pee-wee's Big Adventure." Burton would go on to direct the first two Batman movies. Full circle.

Brace yourself for more videos like this. There's sure to be a few additional Bat parodies between now and the time the movie is released.

"The Dark Knight Rises" hits theatres on July 20th.
