Chris Farley stars in fake ‘Rob Ford: The Movie’ trailer (VIDEO)

Despite the fact that he clearly has substance abuse issues and is currently a subject in a serious police investigation, Toronto's crack-smoking, expletive-spewing, city councillor-tackling mayor Rob Ford is the comedic gift that keeps on giving.

Ford's personal and municipal antics continue to provide fodder for late night comedians and news outlets around the world, and naturally, the Internet is getting in on the action too. By now, most people (particularly residents of Toronto) are starting to tire of the ongoing Ford circus, but nearly everyone seems to agree that late comic actor Chris Farley would have done a killer impression of the embattled mayor. Even Farley's younger brother Kevin has admitted as much:

Capitalizing on the public's apparent demand to see Farley (who died in 1997) play the hard-partying mayor, Toronto-based filmmaker and editor Tristan Gough put together a fake trailer for "Rob Ford: The Movie." Using clips from Farley classics like "Tommy Boy," "Black Sheep," "Air Heads," and "Dirty Work," the faux-trailer imagines what a biopic of Ford might look like if it starred the former "Saturday Night Live" star.

Gough's trailer is pretty hilarious, but it almost does a disservice to Farley's memory. The late comedian had his own battles with substance abuse and was, by all accounts, a very nice guy. Meanwhile, the actual Rob Ford story gets sadder and more depraved by the day. We much prefer this goofy fake version.
