Anna Kendrick goes sheer for ‘The Company You Keep’ premiere (TIFF)
Sheer might be one of the hottest red carpet styles at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival, with A-Listers like Kristen Stewart, Halle Berry, Selena Gomez and more hopping on board. But at Sunday night's premiere of "The Company You Keep," actress Anna Kendrick proved that not only can she rock the latest trends, but she can do it with skill, too.

Kendrick's sheer patterned Mulberry dress wasn't the most revealing we've seen so far this festival (that honour goes to "Cloud Atlas" star Doona Bae). But still, the star of "Up in the Air" and "Twilight" made sure that the cameras caught only what she wanted them to. An expert at posing for lineups of red carpet photographers, it seems Kendrick kept her arms and Rebecca Minkoff clutch strategically placed to avoid any wardrobe malfunctions.

And with her role as an FBI agent in Robert Redford's political thriller "The Company You Keep," Kendrick needs to keep up her serious image. She plays Diana, the ex-girlfriend of Ben (Shia Labeouf), an eager journalist who's out to uncover the widower Jim (Robert Redford) as a former militant activist and member of the Weather Underground group. The movie also stars Susan Sarandon, Julie Christie, and Nick Nolte.
Kendrick pulled double duty this TIFF, also promoting "End of Watch," a found footage-style thriller by David Ayer ("Training Day,") in which two cops and best friends (played by Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña) find themselves caught in a drug war after a routine traffic stop. Kendrick, who plays Gyllenhaal's girlfriend in the film, also stunned at that movie's red carpet premiere in a black Elie Saab gown with a high slit and sheer lace details on the sleeves.

With her knack for sexy-yet-classy dresses, one thing that's clear (besides her wardrobe) is that Kendrick is not only destined for some acting accolades, but for TIFF's best dressed lists, too.
