Kristen Stewart took rings as keepsake from ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2′

The end of an era loomed largely over today's "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2" press conference, as the buildup to the franchise's final film inches ever closer. Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and many other fan favorites addressed the excitement and bittersweet sentimentality that the final film has inspired.

Though Stewart emoted with her usual coolness, she wasn't above admitting to taking a couple of Bella's keepsakes to remind her of the journey. "I kept the rings. The rings are really important to me. Her mother gives her the moon ring in the beginning, and it fully and completely reminds me of [director] Cathrine Hardwicke every time I look at it."

And what about the engagement ring? "Yeah, I got that too."

The "that" in question is rather more significant than Stewart flippantly makes it out to be. What TwiHard wouldn't love to have the original nineteenth century ring, a prize of Edward's mother, with gold that "made a glittering web around the diamonds," as described in the book, "Eclipse."

Of course, in an ingenious case of movie marketing, any TwiHard with an extra $2,299 can actually get a replica of the Victorian-era inspired ring, designed by "Twilight" author Stephenie Meyer along with Infinite Jewelry Co. And since capitalizing on 'Twilight' is such big business, it's no surprise that one can easily purchase a replica of the moon ring, which Stewart referred to during the press conference.

When asked about what keepsakes Lautner took with him, Lautner humorously expressed regret at an opportunity lost. "The last scene I filmed with the wig, I took it off, and they picture wrapped my wig. They were like, 'Alright! That's a franchise rap on Jacob's wig.' Everybody knew how much I hated that thing. So everybody was so happy for me. And they asked me, they were like, 'Do you want it?' And I was like, 'No! Get that away from me. I told them that they could burn it. And now looking back on it, I'm like, 'Man, I should have kept that thing.'"

Though it isn't fair to say that Pattinson seems ready for the franchise to end, he was very forthcoming about what he wouldn't miss. Pattinson expressed frustration playing Edward, that he never really got over. "You're trying to play someone who's seen by a lot of people as being like this perfect thing. But what is that? It doesn't really mean anything. So you're trying to play an archetype on one hand and a character on the other. So I kind of felt insanely frustrated. Right up until the last shot. And then it ended," says Pattinson.

While there's certainly nostalgia over the franchise coming to an end, there's also plenty of excitement over the final installment. For Stewart, it's a chance to finally play a vampire, after watching so many of her friends play one throughout the series, a prospect Stewart likened to, "Breaking her in like a new car. How fast does it go? It was really fun." However, perhaps she was a little too excited to jump in: "I broke my thumb like the first or second day."

"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2" opens wide on November 16th. Yahoo! Movies will be live-streaming the red carpet premiere on Monday, November 12th at 5:30pm PT. The online event will incorporate fan participation through Yahoo! Movies' various social media sites, including Facebook and Twitter.
