She beguiled Bill Murray in Japan, served as Woody Allen's muse (for a while), and kicked some serious butt as Black Widow. Now Scarlett Johansson is about to tackle a new challenge – proving she's as talented behind the camera as she is on the big screen.

It was announced Thursday that Scarlett Johansson will be making her first feature film as a director with an adaptation of Truman Capote's novel "Summer Crossing." Aldamisa Entertainment are backing the project, and will be shopping the film to foreign markets at the Cannes Film Festival, which opened on Wednesday and will run through May 26.

Well, not really, but when writer and director J.J. Abrams stopped by to talk up "Star Trek: Into Darkness" on "Jimmy Kimmel Live" Wednesday night, he got some unsolicited advice on his upcoming "Star Wars" reboot that had the audience howling with laughter.

Paris Hilton is now speaking out about being the victim of the Bling Ring robberies that took place four years ago in her Hollywood Hills home. And she's saying watching the crimes played out on the big screen has given her the strength to finally talk about the traumatizing ordeal.

The 32-year-old hotel heiress makes a cameo – playing herself – in Sofia Coppola's aptly named "The Bling Ring." (We caught our first glimpse of Hilton in the trailer that came out last month.) Starring Emma Watson, "The Bling Ring" is making its debut at this year's Cannes Film Festival in France. And Hilton is there – along with the cast and Coppola – to support the film.

For over 45 years now, the "Star Trek" franchise has been blowing our minds… and our ears!

Since they first launched in 1966, the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise has been a chatty bunch. Along the way, the crew has certainly uttered some memorable zingers.

Many of the old quotes from the late 60s TV series have found their way into more modern Trek carnations, including the latest, "Star Trek Into Darkness," which opens domestically this weekend. Having travelled through space and time, many of these quotes are now as iconic as the franchise itself.

Oddly enough, one of the most frequently quoted Trek lines – "Beam me up, Scotty!" – isn't a quote at all, it's a paraphrase.

Now that we know what what the majority of critics think about Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of "The Great Gatsby" and that audiences were ready to gobble up F. Scott Fitzgerald's roaring 20s brought to life by Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire, giving it an impressive $50 million opening weekend, you'd think we'd be finished hearing about what people think of the movie. That is until we found out that actor James Franco decided to write a review of the film for Vice magazine.

Enterprise crew in 1966, his pointy ears and eyebrows signified he was another species. But a year passed on "Star Trek" before we got to see him in his element on his home planet of Vulcan, throwing up that famed hand gesture.

The Vulcan salute was Spock actor Leonard Nimoy's idea and Nimoy's idea alone. The well-known gesture first appeared in the second-season premiere episode of "Star Trek" titled "Amok Time."

"You're not afraid of the dark, are ya?"

If that line uttered by Richard B. Riddick (Vin Diesel) in the new "Riddick" trailer sounds familiar, that's because, well, it is -- he said the same thing to the (mostly doomed) members of the supporting cast of his feature film debut, "Pitch Black" (2000).

And, somewhat thankfully, a lot of the "Riddick" trailer will remind you of "Pitch Black." Once again, our anti-hero -- a forever-hunted ex-con who can see in the dark thanks to a "shine job" he received during his time in the "slam" -- is on some desolate desert-like planet. A group of "bounty hunters" (why does he call them that and not "mercs"?) shows up, and Riddick proceeds to pick them off one by one. Then night falls and, well, if you've seen "Pitch Black," you know what that means -- the real monsters come out, forcing Riddick and his would-be hunters to join forces in an epic battle for survival.
